Leading IT managed service provider, Concorde Informatics Technology Group Ltd(CITG), has been awarded a £1m contract to deliver IT support services to Tata Steel Europe, the second largest steel producer in Europe.

The agreement, which will run over three years, will see CITG provide onsite support services for Tata Steel Europe’s IT equipment across several business units located throughout the UK. CITG will support the company’s Intel based servers, PCs, laptops, printers and communications equipment, helping to maintain business efficiency and employee productivity.

With steelmaking operations in the UK and the Netherlands, Tata Steel Europe employs 37,000 people worldwide and has a global network of sales offices and service centres. The company looked for a business partner that could help it improve service levels and flexibility, whilst also reduce costs.

The partnership restores a 20-year relationship between Tata Steel Europe and Concorde IT Group’s CEO Colin Meakin, who led the original bid for the contract in 1991 for previous employer Servo, formerly known as ICM Computer Group.

The contract follows a number of significant business moves over the past 20 months. Concorde Excel Holdings Ltd, the parent company, recently announced a rebrand of its subsidiary businesses, uniting them under the new name Concorde Informatics Technology Group Ltd (CITG) to mark 25 continuous years of business success.
